ART-GUM in the FOTA share capital

FOTA SA became the owner of 60% of Art.-Gum's shares in 2007. This transaction has amplyfied FOTA's position in the tire wholesale market. Almost 35% of the shares were assumed into the FOTA capital by raising Art-Gum's company initial capital. Those funds were mainly allocated in raising the current receivables and developing the sales stuctures, giving Art-Gum Sp. z o.o. a leading position in the tire branch.

History of FOTA

In 1990, FOTA has originated as an import and distribution of spare parts company. The roots go back to 1973, when Bogdan Fota has set up his first car workshop. In the 1990's, the company has formed a national sale network all around Poland. Since 2000, FOTA has introduced an on-line sale system, which enables checking the goods availability, equivalents, prices, bonuses etc. In 2003, FOTA establishes it's own Logistics Centre and launches it's own replacements parts brand - KAGER. In 2004-2006, the company establishes the Lider Service Truck workshop network providing service for trucks. At the same time, FOTA has created the first branches of the Fota International programme in Hungary, Czech Republic and Ukraine. Since 2006, FOTA is a joint stock company overtaking shares of Art-Gum (tire distributor), Expom Kwidzyn (specializing in regeneration and production of starters and batteries), Autoprima and AUTOMOTORSPORT Centrum (spare parts distibutors in the Czech Republic and Slovakia). Wojciech Pratkowski has been assigned to the Board President in February 2009.
